Who uses this photo — and where it is uploaded

The e-Visa (electronic visitor visa) is only for citizens of Australia, Canada and the United States. Brazil's consulates name brazil.vfsevisa.com, the portal run by VFS Global, as the only channel for e-Visa applications, and the process is fully online — Brazil's consulate in Washington notes that "the traveler does not need to visit or submit any physical documents to our office."

2 × 2 inches or 413 × 531 pixels? The Brazil visa photo size question

For the e-Visa upload, the photo size for a Brazil visa is 413 × 531 pixels — the upload screen asks for a "Color photo with a white background, sized 3.5 x 4.5 cm (413 x 531 pixels)." You may still see 2 × 2 inches: some consulate e-Visa pages list a "Passport-style photo (2” x 2”, white background)", and the consular visitor visa asks for a "Photo - Passport size (2” x 2”)". When you upload to the e-Visa portal, follow the portal's own document specification — this page prepares that 413 × 531 px file.

How to make your Brazil visa photo online

  1. Take a photo against a plain white wall, looking directly at the camera lens.
  2. Upload it with the tool on this page — the Brazil e-Visa document is already selected.
  3. IDPhotoBy crops and resizes it and checks the background. Preview the 413 × 531 px result, then download the JPEG — it stays within the 2 MB limit.
  4. Upload the file in your e-Visa application on brazil.vfsevisa.com.

It runs in your browser — there is no app to install.

Photo mistakes that can delay your e-Visa

Before you upload, check your photo for these problems:

  • a wrong size, or a background that is not white;
  • a smile, visible teeth or shadows;
  • glasses or a head covering;
  • a cropped head or chin;
  • a photo cropped from your passport bio page;
  • a file that is not JPEG or JPG, or is larger than 2 MB.

What IDPhotoBy changes — and what it never touches

IDPhotoBy works on the framing, not on your face: it crops and resizes your photo and checks the background. It does not retouch, beautify or AI-edit your face, and it makes no acceptance promise — the decision on your e-Visa is not ours to make.

Requirements can change. Check the official application portal before submitting — for the Brazil e-Visa, that is brazil.vfsevisa.com.
