Jamaica Passport Photo Online — Make a 35×45 mm Photo

Applying for or renewing a Jamaican passport? Whether you call it a Jamaica passport photo or a Jamaican passport picture, PICA's rules are the same. Upload a recent photo and IDPhotoBy sizes and crops it to the PICA standard — a 35×45 mm photo of your head, neck and shoulders on a plain background — with the Jamaica Passport document already selected.

PICA (pica.gov.jm) sets the rules for a Jamaica passport photo, and IDPhotoBy prepares your photo to match them. According to PICA's published requirements:

• Two identical, recent colour photographs with a matte/dull finish, taken within the last 6 months.
• Full frontal pose — head, neck and top of the shoulders visible, eyes open and clearly visible, neutral expression (smiling is not acceptable).
• Plain background, shade depending on your complexion and hair colour: avoid white clothing and use a pastel background for light complexion, wear coloured clothing against a white background for dark complexion, and use a pale blue or pastel background for grey or white hair.
• No tinted lenses if you wear glasses, and avoid heavy, thick frames.
• No head covering except for religious purposes (Section H of the application form must then be completed).

The Jamaica passport photo size is 35 mm wide × 45 mm high (about 1.4×1.8 in), face measuring 25–35 mm chin-to-crown, with a 3–4 mm margin above the hair. IDPhotoBy outputs a 35×45 mm file matching PICA's standard, ready to print.

PICA offers more than one way to apply, and the photo rules differ depending on which one applies to you:

• Online Adult Passport Renewal — adults renewing a passport that was issued to them as an adult after September 2001 (not as a minor under 18), with no name change, not replacing a lost, stolen or damaged one. PICA recommends, but doesn't require, a professional photographer: save your own photo as a JPEG, upload it, and test it against PICA's own online Photo Checker. No certification needed.
• First-time applicants, name-change renewals, minor-to-adult renewals, and lost, stolen or damaged replacements — one of the two photographs must be certified on the back by an approved certifying official (Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, Commissioner of Oaths, Medical Doctor, Lawyer, or Consular Officer), in person. No online tool, including IDPhotoBy, can do this step for you.
• The paper Simplified Renewal route separately asks for "professionally produced" photographs.

IDPhotoBy prepares the photo file itself either way; certification, where it applies, is a separate in-person step.

• Skipping certification when it's required for first-time applicants, name-change renewals, minor-to-adult renewals, and lost, stolen or damaged replacements.

Requirements can change — check PICA's official application portal (pica.gov.jm) before you submit; PICA is the final authority on acceptance.
