Need a Singapore IC photo (NRIC Identity Card) for ICA's e-Services application? Upload a recent photo and IDPhotoBy resizes and crops it to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) standard — an exact 400×514 px digital photo on a plain white background, head measured 25mm–35mm from chin to crown. The Singapore IC document is already selected for you, covering Register-at-15, Re-Register-at-30/55, and Loss-Replacement IC applications, all completed through ICA's e-Services.
ICA sets the technical standard for the Singapore IC (NRIC) photo upload, and IDPhotoBy checks your photo against it. Here is what is required for the digital, online-submission photo:
- Size 400×514 px — the exact pixel dimensions ICA's e-Services form expects. Your photo must be taken within the last 3 months.
- Accepted file formats — jpg, jpeg, heic, heif or png, with a maximum file size of 8MB.
- Head size 25mm–35mm — measured from the chin to the crown of the head, an absolute measurement, not a percentage of the frame.
- Plain white background — if your hair is white, ICA allows a light-grey background instead.
- Neutral facial expression — mouth closed, eyes open and clearly visible, full-face and front view with both edges of the face and the top of the shoulders shown.
- Glasses and headgear — clear, untinted lenses with no flash or reflection (tinted glasses and sunglasses are not allowed); headgear is allowed only if habitually worn for religious or racial custom, and must not be white.
- No alteration or enhancement — ICA states the IC photo must not be altered in any way, including no modification of facial features and no use of photo-editing software.
Every Singapore IC application goes through the same channel: ICA's e-Service, using Singpass to log in. Registering your first IC at 15, re-registering at 30 or 55, and replacing a lost IC are all completed digitally — no physical or paper IC application form exists for this document (unlike some other ICA documents, such as the Certificate of Identity, which do use a paste-a-photo paper form). Fingerprint or biometric enrolment, where required, is a separate in-person step at your school or an ICA Services Centre — but the photo itself is uploaded digitally beforehand, through the same e-Service.
- Upload a recent, well-lit photo with the tool on this page — the Singapore IC document is already selected.
- IDPhotoBy resizes and crops your photo to 400×514 px, keeping your head at the required 25mm–35mm chin-to-crown size, and checks the background against the required white (or light grey, if your hair is white).
- Preview the result, then download the finished JPEG.
- Log in to ICA's e-Service with Singpass and upload it as part of your IC application.
The Singapore IC (NRIC) photo tool on this page also works as a size checker and resizer — there is no app to download, it runs online in your browser.
IDPhotoBy resizes and crops your photo to the 400×514 px ICA standard and checks the background against the required white. It does not retouch, beautify or add studio-style enhancements to your face — ICA states plainly that an IC photo must not be altered or enhanced in any way, with no modification of facial features and no use of photo-editing software. Your face is left exactly as it is; only the framing, size and background check are prepared for compliance with ICA's published spec.
IDPhotoBy does not promise acceptance — no online tool honestly can. ICA makes the final decision when you submit your application. Requirements can change — check ICA's official photo guidelines (ica.gov.sg) before you apply.
