The portal's upload form checks every photo against a set of size and format rules — JPEG only, no larger than 4 MB, at least 300×400 px, cropped to a 3:4 ratio — and IDPhotoBy prepares your Ukraine visa photo online at 450×600 px, comfortably inside those rules. The e-Visa portal links to photograph-quality guidance for applicants. Here is what it asks for:
- Plain, light-coloured background — an even background with no shadows, flash reflections or pattern; no specific hex colour is stated by the source. IDPhotoBy's default output background is a light grey (#eeeeee), consistent with this class of requirement.
- Face fills 70–80% of the photograph, taken close-up of the head and shoulders.
- Neutral expression, mouth closed — look straight at the camera, not tilted or turned.
- Eyes open and clearly visible, with no hair across them.
- Glasses — allowed only if your eyes remain clearly visible, with no flash reflection and no tinted lenses.
- Head coverings — not permitted except for religious reasons, and even then your face from chin to forehead and both edges must remain clearly visible.
- Alone in frame, and recent — no other people or objects in the shot, taken no more than 6 months ago.
- Sharp focus, no ink marks or creases, natural skin tones and even brightness.
The e-Visa application's upload form checks every photo against four rules: it must be a JPEG or JPG file — PNG, PDF, BMP and GIF are all rejected — no larger than 4,194,304 bytes (4 MB), at least 300×400 px, and the in-app cropper then locks the crop to a 3:4 width-to-height ratio.
