Need a photo for an Uzbekistan visa? According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, both ways of applying use the same 35 × 45 mm photo. For the e-Visa — the online application on e-visa.gov.uz — you upload it as a .jpg file smaller than 1024 KB (1 MB), sized 35 × 45 mm at 300 dpi, or about 413 × 531 pixels. For a visa at an Uzbek embassy or consulate, you need 2 color photos glued to the two copies of your visa application form. Upload your photo here and IDPhotoBy prepares your Uzbekistan visa photo for both routes.

Uzbekistan visa photo requirements

These Uzbekistan visa photo requirements come from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — its e-Visa portal and its document list for visas issued at missions abroad.

Head size and background: the Uzbek texts give no head-size figure in millimeters — the ICAO Doc 9303 guidance applies — and name no background color. The e-Visa portal's example of an accepted photo has a plain white background.

Uzbekistan e-Visa photo size and upload rules

On e-visa.gov.uz, your photo goes in the "Photo and passport" step. The portal's photo text reads: "The photo must have a size of 35x45 mm with a resolution of 300 dpi." Its upload check adds: "Required image should be jpg format and file size should be less than 1024 KB".

The same step takes a copy of your passport data page as a separate file: it must be readable and not more than 500 KB.

Visa at an Uzbek embassy or consulate: 2 printed photos

If your country is not eligible for the e-Visa, the portal tells you to contact an Uzbek embassy or consulate instead; business, guest, transit and other consular visa categories also go through a mission. The ministry's document list asks for "2 color photos (passport size - 35x45mm)", glued to the two copies of the visa application form that you complete on evisa.mfa.uz. The size is the same 35 × 45 mm, so the printable sheet from the same upload covers this route — print it at home or at a print shop.

"Photo is not comply with ICAO standards" — why e-Visa photos get rejected

The e-Visa portal states: "The uploaded face image must comply with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization's DOC9303." When it decides a photo does not, it shows the message "Photo is not comply with ICAO standards". Before you upload, check that:

  • the background is plain, with no other people or scenery behind you — the portal's example shows such photos as rejected;
  • your face is clearly visible, in even lighting, with no shadows across it.

How to make your Uzbekistan visa photo online

This Uzbekistan visa photo maker starts from a photo you already have, so you can resize a photo for an Uzbekistan visa without a studio visit:

  1. Take a photo with your phone's camera against a plain wall in even light, facing the camera with your eyes open.
  2. Upload it with the tool on this page — the Uzbekistan visa document is already selected.
  3. IDPhotoBy crops and resizes it to 35 × 45 mm and checks the background. Preview the result, then download it.
  4. You get a 413 × 531 px .jpg under 1 MB for the e-Visa upload and a printable sheet of 35 × 45 mm photos for an embassy or consulate application.

What IDPhotoBy changes — and what it doesn't

IDPhotoBy works on the framing, not on your face: it crops and resizes your photo to the Uzbek visa photo size and checks the background. It does not retouch, beautify or AI-edit your face, and it makes no acceptance promise: the e-Visa portal runs its own ICAO check, and the embassy or consulate decides on printed photos.

Requirements can change. Check the official application portal before submitting — for the e-Visa, that is e-visa.gov.uz.
